Open Dialogue on Tourism Held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An open dialogue with tour operators and representatives of the tourism sector was held in Tashkent, organized by the republican working group under the leadership of Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event aimed to develop the tourism sector, strengthen interaction with market participants, and address current issues at the local level.
The meeting took place at the Singapore Institute of Management in Tashkent and brought together representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, as well as over 130 entrepreneurs, including tour operators, travel agents, transport service providers, artisans, and representatives of commercial, recreational, and insurance organizations.
During the event, key results of Tashkent’s tourism development in 2023 were presented. Participants were briefed on projects to increase tourist flows, create new routes, modernize infrastructure, and improve service quality.
Priority areas for 2024 were also highlighted, including further modernization of tourism infrastructure, implementation of modern service standards, creation of new jobs, and promotion of national products and handicrafts.
Business representatives proposed practical initiatives, including simplifying licensing procedures, improving transport logistics, creating a comfortable urban environment for tourists, and promoting national crafts.
Following the discussions, relevant authorities were tasked with developing mechanisms to implement the proposed initiatives.
The dialogue emphasized that such events strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors, reduce administrative barriers, and enhance the competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s tourism market.
