Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 11 June, an online “round table” was held dedicated to the Youth Parliament, the creation of which is envisaged under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
During the event, the Regulation on the Youth Parliament and the Program of events for the organization of the Youth Parliament and ensuring the effectiveness of its activities were presented.
The videoconference was attended by members of the Senate, UN Permanent Representative in Uzbekistan, Helena Fraser, representative of the United Nations Population Fund, chairman of the UN youth working group of Uzbekistan Yu Yu, representative of the UN children’s fund in Uzbekistan, chairman of the UN youth working group of Uzbekistan Sasha Grauman, as well as representatives a number of international organizations.
During the round table, the discussion focused on the process of organizing the Youth Parliament, which envisages goals such as raising the level of legal awareness and literacy of youth, protecting their rights, freedoms and legitimate interests, informing young people about the legislative process and enhancing the participation of young people in these processes.
It was noted that world experience was studied in this area, discussions were held in local Kengashes with the participation of youth, in particular with representatives of the Youth Union, the Institute for the Study of Youth Problems and the training of promising personnel. All offers are taken into account.
Representatives of international organizations supported the work carried out in this direction, and made suggestions and recommendations for organizing the activities of the Youth Parliament.

On the eve of 30 June - Youth Day - the beginning of the activities of the Youth Parliament under the Senate is expected.
