Online admission of documents to Presidential schools to begin on 1 June

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Admission of documents to the Presidential schools in Namangan, Nukus, Khiva and Tashkent will be held from 1 to 22 June 2019. This was announced on 27 May 2019 by the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan.

Presidential schools are created in accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures for the education of Presidential schools” dated February 20, 2019 and are aimed at creating a system for talent management and training future leaders of the country.

The first schools will start functioning from the 2019-2020 school year in Namangan, Nukus, Khiva and Tashkent. The beginning of the creation of Presidential schools in limited numbers is dictated by the need to test a completely new model of management of these schools. After approbation, in 2020-2021 Presidential schools will be created in other regions of Uzbekistan. In parallel, a team of local experts will be formed, which will study the positive experience of the implementation of the Cambridge program and the possibilities of its implementation in the management of other schools in the country. Thus, Presidential schools will become a kind of engine of reforms in improving the quality of education in the republic.

The Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, said: “The Ministry of Public Education is working to create equal conditions for all candidates. The Cambridge Assessment International Education brand Examination Board of the University of Cambridge will oversee the selection process for Presidential schools. This organization holds various exams around the world, and they are responsible for their transparent and fair exams. ”

“Of course, all parents want their children to receive knowledge in Presidential schools. But, only the most talented will get such a chance. Cambridge Assessment International Education experts will not see who the parents of the children are or whether they have money. For an English company, the main criterion for evaluation will be talent, the level of critical and logical thinking of the child,” he added.
