One Person Killed in Explosion at Gas Filling Station in Namangan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 October, an explosion occurred at a gas filling station in Namangan region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The incident took place in the Birlik neighborhood of Chust district. The emergency services received the first report at 18:47 via the 112 hotline.

Three fire and rescue units promptly arrived at the scene. According to the Ministry, no fire ensued following the explosion.

Preliminary data indicate that safety regulations were violated while moving a 10-ton fuel tank, which triggered the blast.

One employee, performing welding work at the time, was killed in the incident.

Specialists are currently investigating the causes of the explosion and assessing the extent of material damage.
