On the site for the construction of nuclear power plants, the second stage of engineering and exploration work start
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 June, the second stage of engineering and survey work began on the territory chosen for the construction of a nuclear power plant near Tuzkon Lake of Jizzakh region.
Representatives of Uzatom Agency, Rosatom State Corporation, specialists of the State Design Research Institute for Engineering Surveys in Construction, Geoinformatics and Urban Cadastre of Uzbekistan (“O'zGASHK¬LITI”), representatives of JSC “ Atomstroyexport ”, responsible persons of Farishsky district, and media workers attended the event.
Earlier, it was reported that on the estimated areas allocated in our country for the construction of nuclear power plants, the first stage of engineering and survey work was completed. It was announced that at 4 sites near the Tudakul reservoir of Navoi and Bukhara regions, as well as 3 sites located around the Tuzon Lake, Kuli, Jizzakh region, scientific exploration work was carried out, and as a result of studies, the area near the Tuzkonkul Lake of Jizzakh was chosen areas. It was here that the second stage of the engineering and exploration work started.
Specialists of Atomstroyexport will conduct geophysical, seismological work on this territory. Specialists study the results of geological and geophysical surveys, on the basis of which the work on the development of the technical design of a nuclear power plant, which will be built in Uzbekistan for the first time, will be continued. It should be noted that the exploration process will be controlled by the relevant ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and O’zGASHK¬LITI will also be involved in the organization of surveys.
As part of the cooperation agreement on the construction of a nuclear power plant between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation and the Road Map, approved within its framework, on 17 May, an agreement was signed with Atomstroyexport at the engineering department of the Rosatom state corporation on conducting engineering and exploration work to develop a technical project.
