Oman's Minister of Labour Reviews Digital Reforms in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Sultanate of Oman led by Minister of Labour Mahad Baawain visited IT Park Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the guests were introduced to Uzbekistan’s ongoing digital reforms, the main priorities of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and the future development plans of IT Park Uzbekistan.

The delegation also toured the Ustudy IT Academy, which trains specialists in the field of information technology, the UZSOC Innovation Center responsible for the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, and observed the operations of the Unified Integrator UZINFOCOM.

At a meeting involving Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Civil Service Development under the President Amirtimurkhon Musaev, and Oman's Minister of Labour Mahad Baawain, discussions focused on bilateral cooperation in the fields of digitalisation, workforce development, artificial intelligence, IT outsourcing, and the advancement of e-government.

Shermatov provided a detailed overview of Uzbekistan’s achievements in digital transformation, particularly the efforts to simplify and enhance the transparency of electronic public services for citizens and businesses.

In turn, Mahad Baawain shared Oman’s experience in digital initiatives, labour market reforms, and the practical application of new IT solutions.

Following the talks, both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation, exchanging best practices, and jointly implementing new projects.
