Omani Delegation Led by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Visits IT Park Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A high-level delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, headed by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, visited IT Park Uzbekistan.
As part of the visit, the delegation met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov. The Omani side also included the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Uzbekistan, Wafa Jabr Nasir Al Busaidi.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and Oman in the field of digital technologies, including the development of IT service exports, the launch of joint startup support programs, and the strengthening of digital infrastructure.
The guests were introduced to the operations of IT Park and expressed strong interest in the development and dynamics of Uzbekistan’s growing IT ecosystem.
Following the meeting, the delegation led by Minister Shermatov toured the UZINFOCOM center, where they were presented with major IT projects underway in Uzbekistan, particularly in areas such as e-government and cybersecurity.
The visit marked an important step toward elevating bilateral cooperation in information and digital technologies to a new strategic level.
