Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Chief State Sanitary Inspector of Uzbekistan Nurmat Otabekov clarified the situation around the health status of compatriots being returned to their homeland.

In particular, answering the question about the likelihood of their infection on airplanes, as well as on the way from the place of their return, he noted that everyone may already be infected. “They are returning from regions with an unfavorable epidemiological situation in which outbreaks of the epidemic have been registered,” N.Otabekov added.

Consequently, the Chief Sanitary Inspector stated that all fellow citizens should be considered as “potentially infected.”

“It is difficult to make separate seats in the cabin with insulating cellophanes/films for each person, as inside the cabin, in the aisle between the seats, passengers and crew members serving passengers are also moving. Therefore, crew members are also quarantined after arriving from regions with an epidemiologically unfavorable situation,” he concluded.
