Number of small enterprises reach 215,801 units

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, number of small business entities reached 215,801 units as of 1 October 2016, which rose by 5.8% year-on-year.

Share of small businesses in industrial production reached 43.8% in January-September (38.7% in January-September 2015), retail trade – 89.9% (87.3%), services – 60% (57.6%), cargo transportation – 53.8% (51.6%), passenger transportation – 90.7% (88%) and employment – 77.8% (77.5%).

Small and private businesses used investments into economy for 13.258 trillion soums or 38.3% of total volume of used investments in Uzbekistan.

They carried out construction works for 15.675 trillion soums (70% of total construction works) in nine months of 2016, which rose by 21.1% year-on-year.
