Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The number of permanent population of the Republic of Uzbekistan as of 1 April 2020 made up 34.03 million people and from the beginning of the year increased by 131,600 people, or 0.4%, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Analysis by regions of the republic showed that, as of 1 April 2020, the largest population is observed in Samarkand - 11.4% (share in the total population of the republic), Ferghana - 11.1%, Kashkadarya - 9.7% and Andijan - 9.2% regions.
According to preliminary data, as of 1 April 2020, 30.8% of the total permanent population in the republic are people under working age,58.7% are of working age and 10.5% are older than working age.
In January-March 2020, 170.4 thousand births were registered (hereinafter births are referred to as live births), respectively, the birth rate per 1000 population was 20.2 permille and, compared with the same period in 2019, it increased by 0.8 permille (in January-March 2019 - 19.4 permille).
In January-March 2020, 37,500 deaths were registered, respectively, the mortality rate was 4.4 permille and, compared with the same period in 2019, decreased by 0.1 permille (in JanuaryMarch 2019 - by 4.5 permille).
Of the total number of registered deaths in January-March 2020, 62.4% died from circulatory diseases,9.3% - from neoplasms, 4.3% - from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 4.8% - from digestive diseases, 5.5% - from respiratory diseases, 1.4% - from infectious and parasitic diseases and 12.3% - from other diseases.
The number of registered dead children under the age of 1 year was 2,100, of which 51.1% died from conditions occurring in the perinatal period, 23.9% - from respiratory diseases, 13.2% - from congenital anomalies, 4.0% - from infectious and parasitic diseases, 2.5% - from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 0.5% - from digestive diseases, 4.8% - from other diseases.
In January-March 2020, the natural population growth made up 132,900 people and, compared with the same period of 2019, increased by 10,300 people (in January-March 2019 – 122,600 people).
During the period from January to March 2020, the civil registry offices registered 49,500 marriages. In the Republic, the marriage rate per 1000 population was 5.9 per mille.
By region, for January-March 2020, the highest marriage rate was noted in Khorezm region (10.8 per mille), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (7.8 per mille), Bukhara (6.9 per mille) and Surkhandarya (6.6 per mille) regions.
By region, for January-March 2020, the lowest marriage rate was observed in Jizzakh (4.5 per mille), Navoi (4.7 per mille), Namangan (4.7 per mille) and Kashkadarya (5.1 per mille) regions.
For the period from January to March 2020, registry offices registered 7,800 divorces. In the republic, the divorce rate per 1000 population was 0.9 per mille.
By region, in January-March 2020, the highest rate of divorces was observed in the city of Tashkent (1.0 per mille), Andijan (0.9 per mille), Samarkand (0.8 per mille) and Tashkent (0.8 per mille) regions.
By region, in January-March 2020, the lowest divorce rates were recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (0.3 per mille), Jizzakh (0.3 per mille), Navoi (0.3 per mille) and Syrdarya (0.3 per mille) regions.
In January-March 2020, the number of arrivals made up 40,100 people (internal – 39,600 people, external – 0.5 thousand people), and the number of departures – 41,500 people (internal – 39,600 people, external – 1,900 people). The migration balance reached minus 1,400 people, and in the same period of 2019, it was also minus 1,400 people.
A high level of migration balance falls on Kashkadarya (minus 1.7 thousand people), Samarkand (minus 1.5 thousand people), Bukhara (minus 1.0 thousand people) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (minus 0.8 thousand people). A positive migration balance was noted in Tashkent city (plus 7.1)
The largest share of arrivals from abroad to the Republic of Uzbekistan (% of their total number) falls on arrivals from Kazakhstan (34.1%), Tajikistan (28.6%), the Russian Federation (19.6%) and Kyrgyzstan (7.1%), the smallest - from Ukraine (1.2%) and other countries (9.4%)
The largest share of people leaving the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad (% of their total number) falls to those who left for Kazakhstan (64.8%), the Russian Federation (29.2%) and Kyrgyzstan (0.9%), the smallest - for Israel (0.9%), Tajikistan (0.8%) and other countries (3.4%).
In January-March 2020, the number of immigrants from foreign countries as a whole in the republic made up 490 people. The largest number of visitors by region falls on the Tashkent region (191 people), the city of Tashkent (111 people) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (49 people).
In January-March 2020, the number of immigrants to foreign countries in the country as a whole made up 1906 people.
The largest number of departures from the regions occurs in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (622 people), the Tashkent region (487 people) and the city of Tashkent (446 people).
By region, in January-March 2020, the negative balance of external migration was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 573 people, the city of Tashkent - 335 people, the Tashkent region - 296 people and the Navoi region - 60 people, which is higher than in other regions.
