Number of operating enterprises with foreign capital reach almost 6,000
In comparison with the previous year, the growth in number of operating enterprises reached 16.0% or 823 units. Number of joint ventures reached 3,314 units and foreign enterprises – 2,664 units.
The main part of enterprises with foreign capital falls on Tashkent city - 3883 units (65.0%), Tashkent region - 644 units (10.8%) and Samarkand region - 317 units (5.3%), while the smallest one - Khorezm - 52 units (0.9%), Kashkadarya region - 57 units (1.0%), Navoi region - 66 units (1.1%) and Surkhandarya region - 79 units (1.3%). This indicates the need to strengthen joint work with foreign partners, develop and attract foreign investment in these regions.
The largest number of enterprises with foreign capital falls on industry - 2542 units (42.5%), trade - 1239 units (20.7%) and other activity - 1036 units (17.3%), the lowest one - on human health and social work - 81 units (1.4%), information and communication - 150 units (2.5%), transportation and storage - 177 units (3.0%), agriculture, forestry and fishing - 198 units (3.3%), accommodation and food services - 233 units (3.9%) and construction - 322 units (5.4%). The main part of operating enterprises with foreign capital are in industry and trade, the smallest one - in human health and social work and information and communication.
In January-April 2018, the number of newly created enterprises with foreign capital was 583 units. In comparison with the previous year, the growth in the number of operating enterprises increased by 2.6 times and amounted to 360 units, while the number of enterprises with the capital of residents of the Russian Federation amounted to 119, Turkey - 85, Kazakhstan - 77, the PRC - 75 and the Republic of Korea - 54. Residents of Afghanistan, India, Germany, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and other states also showed interest in joint activities in 2018.
In the reporting period, the main part of newly created enterprises with foreign capital falls on industry - 191 units, trade - 159 units, agriculture, forestry and fishing - 53 units, construction - 51 units, and other activity - 129 units.
