Number of Bank Cards in Uzbekistan Exceeds 68 Million at the Start of 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to the Central Bank, as of 1 January 2026, commercial banks in Uzbekistan had issued approximately 68.27 million bank cards.
The regulator also reported significant expansion of the country’s payment infrastructure. Currently, there are 430,760 payment terminals installed nationwide, while the total number of ATMs and information kiosks has reached 40,090. Payment organizations have also made a substantial contribution, operating 22,600 ATMs and kiosks.
Cashless transactions continue to grow: in 2025, the turnover of card-based payments through payment terminals exceeded 460.26 trillion soums, reflecting the continued expansion of electronic payment usage by both households and businesses.
The leading banks in terms of card issuance are the People’s Bank with 10.77 million cards, Agrobank with 6.58 million, and Ipoteka-Bank with 5.36 million.
Hamkorbank ranks first in the number of installed payment terminals, with 57,383 devices, followed by the National Bank of Uzbekistan with 40,764 terminals, and the People’s Bank with 33,134 terminals.
The most developed network of ATMs and information kiosks is concentrated among the country’s major state and private banks. The top three institutions are the People’s Bank with 3,134 units, Agrobank with 1,966, and Kapitalbank with 1,478 ATMs and kiosks.
