Novgorod region to develop cooperation with Tashkent region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 22 to 27 September, a business mission of Novgorod region visited Uzbekistan. The delegation included representatives of companies producing organic fertilizers and special equipment for industry and agriculture, engaged in meat processing, the manufacture of flour, working in real estate. The delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Novgorod Region Yevgeny Bogdanov.
Novgorodians met with employees of the Trade Representation of Russia and the office of the Russian Export Center in Uzbekistan, representatives of business circles of the regions of the Central Asian country. According to Yevgeny Bogdanov, the business mission was divided into two areas of work: meetings of entrepreneurs of the two countries and negotiations between government officials. “I met with the leaders of local regions in Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. For cooperation, the Tashkent region seemed to us the most interesting, because most enterprises are concentrated there. Moreover, the region is located almost in the center of the country. We agreed to sign an agreement on cooperation between the Novgorod and Tashkent regions in socio-economic areas. In the near future we will develop a road map,” Evgeny Bogdanov said.
At the same time, communication took place between Novgorod and Uzbek businessmen. As Yevgeny Bogdanov emphasized, there was a practical component in the meetings of entrepreneurs.

He represented LLC “Hlangenz”, a factory of special equipment “Iskadaz” and LLC “Azimut”.
“We agreed to prepare a reciprocal business mission of entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan to the Novgorod region in October. We are interested in cooperation in specific industries: the production of fertilizers, building materials, food products, woodworking and agriculture. These are the areas that unite the Novgorod region and Uzbekistan,” Evgeny Bogdanov added.
A business mission to Uzbekistan was organized by the Novgorod Export Support Center with the assistance of the regional Ministry of Investment Policy. It was held as part of the implementation of regional components of national projects in the field of export, small and medium enterprises.
Uzbekistan today is a promising direction for Novgorod business. Export of products to the republic significantly prevails over import revenues. The nomenclature of goods exported to Uzbekistan: paper, cardboard and products from them, wood and products from it, ceramic products, products from stone, gypsum and cement, electric machines and their parts. The main goods imported from Uzbekistan: rubber, rubber and products from them, plastics and products from them, other products from base metals, electric machines and parts thereof.
On the territory of Novgorod region, there are eight organizations with the participation of Uzbek capital. Their main activities: wholesale trade in food products and machinery; construction of residential and non-residential buildings; production of materials used in medicine; manufacturing of wooden building structures; catering and catering services.
