Notary officers to improve skills once in three years
The amendments were introduced in line with the law “On introduction of changes and amendments, as well as abolishment of some legislative acts of Uzbekistan” from 14 May 2014.
The changes clarified requirements to persons, who can carry out activities of notary offices. The amendments noted that persons, who worked as judge for five years, or head or controller of notary activities for three years, should undergo internship within a year.
In line with the law, the notary officers can be citizen of Uzbekistan at the age of over 25 and with legal education. The notary officers should have three-year experience as legal specialist and should undergo internship within two years, as well as pass necessary exams.
The amendments also changed terms for undergoing re-training for notary officers. Now, the notary officers should undergo re-training once in three years (earlier once in five years). Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan sets order of holding re-training.
