Non-Performing Loans in Uzbekistan Banks Reach 21.26 Trillion Soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 October 2025, the volume of non-performing loans (NPLs) in commercial banks of Uzbekistan reached 21.26 trillion soums, accounting for 3.7% of the total loan portfolio of 582.2 trillion soums, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
Among state-owned banks, problematic loans amounted to 14.6 trillion soums, also representing 3.7% of the government sector’s total loan portfolio of 394.9 trillion soums. The largest amounts of NPLs were recorded at UzNatsBank — 3.49 trillion soums (3.3%), followed by Agrobank with 2.59 trillion soums (3.4%) and UzPromStroyBank with 2.29 trillion soums (3.4%).
Significant shares of NPLs were also observed at Asaka Bank — 1.9 trillion soums (4.7%) and the Business Development Bank — 1.41 trillion soums (5.9%).
Among private banks, the leaders in NPL volume are Ipoteka Bank — 2.2 trillion soums (6.3%), Kapital Bank — 1.52 trillion soums (4.4%), and TBC Bank — 0.49 trillion soums (4.5%). In contrast, Hamkor Bank and Ipak Yuli Bank demonstrate low levels of problematic loans, at 1.4% of their portfolios, equivalent to 0.31 trillion soums and 0.21 trillion soums respectively.
The lowest NPL levels among all banks are seen at Open Bank — 1 billion soums (0.3%), Madad Invest Bank — 1 billion soums (0.3%), and APEX Bank — 1 billion soums (0.1%).
At the same time, high NPL ratios are observed at Garant Bank — 0.12 trillion soums (9.9%), AVO Bank — 0.06 trillion soums (8.8%), and Yangi Bank — 0.012 trillion soums (7.4%).
Notably, UzKDB Bank, Oktobank, and Uzum Bank reported no non-performing loans.
