Nine Investment Projects Worth US$40 Million to Be Implemented in Kustepa District of Fergana Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Nine investment projects with a total value of US$40 million are set to be launched in the Kustepa district of Fergana region, the regional administration reported.

Last week, regional governor Khayrullo Bazarov met with entrepreneurs and their foreign partners to discuss initiatives in construction, food processing, electrical engineering, and knitwear production. All facilities are expected to be commissioned by mid-2026. A special industrial zone in the district will host the projects, creating about 1,200 new jobs.

Among the largest initiatives is the establishment of a joint venture with the Chinese company ANKE to produce lighting fixtures and other electrical appliances. The US$10 million plant will occupy a 0.5-hectare site and be fully financed through foreign investment. The enterprise is expected to manufacture up to 500,000 lamps annually, worth around 100 billion soums, with an export potential of US$1 million, primarily targeting Russia and China.

Meanwhile, Rizo Metall plans to build a US$3 million plant in Kustepa for the production of metal goods. The facility will produce nails, self-tapping screws, and wire mesh, with an annual output of 2,000 tons valued at 15 billion soums. Export deliveries to CIS countries and the European Union are projected at US$0.5 million.
