New Workshop for “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” High-Speed Trains Opens in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 December 2025, the Technical Service Center of High-Speed Electric Trains of JSC “Uzbekiston Temir Yullari” officially opened a new workshop dedicated to servicing the “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” trains manufactured by the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem.
The opening ceremony was attended by railway executives, representatives of relevant authorities, experts, and journalists. Guests toured the modern depot, which features a dispatch center for real-time train monitoring and innovative equipment for train maintenance and washing.
The new 1,000-square-meter workshop, along with additional infrastructure, will enable the servicing of six new high-speed electric trains.
The Center also established a specialized training facility to enhance the skills of drivers and their assistants, who completed their training in South Korea.
Special attention was given to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability: the depot is equipped with 250 kW solar panels, a rainwater collection system, and an electric shunting locomotive to minimize environmental impact.
Starting in 2026, the “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” trains will operate on the Tashkent—Urgench—Khiva route, covering over 1,100 kilometers in seven hours, positioning Uzbekistan among the top 17 countries worldwide in high-speed rail development.
