New Uzbek Ambassador Presents Credentials to President of Iraq

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kuwait, Ayubkhon Yunusov, presented his credentials to the President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the ceremony, the Iraqi President fondly recalled his brief meetings with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of international conferences. He expressed satisfaction with the appointment of the new ambassador and wished Ayubkhon Yunusov success in his important diplomatic mission.

Ayubkhon Yunusov assumed his duties as ambassador to Kuwait on 6 February 2024. Previously, he headed the Consular-Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yunusov graduated from the Tashkent Islamic Institute named after Imam al-Bukhari, Al-Azhar University in Egypt, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and the Tashkent Law Institute. He holds a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree.

Since 2003, Ayubkhon Yunusov has held various positions within the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including assignments at the central office, the Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and the Consulates General in Jeddah and Dubai (UAE).
