New Provisions Introduced to the Law “On Publishing Activities”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Amendments and additions have been made to the Law “On Publishing Activities,” regulating the legal status of a publishing house’s chief editor and measures to promote a reading culture.

Under the new provisions, the position of chief editor may be assigned to a person with higher education and at least three years of experience in publishing activities.

The appointment and dismissal of the chief editor are carried out by the founder(s) or the head of the organization.

Additionally, the chief editor now holds the authority to decide on the publication of editions.

The law comes into force from the date of its official publication.
