New Inspectorate to regulate the alcohol and tobacco market in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A government resolution was passed on measures to ensure effective regulation of the alcohol and tobacco market.

The resolution approved the Regulation on the Inspectorate for the Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market under the Ministry of Finance.

According to this Regulation, the Inspectorate for the Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market licenses the production of food and technical ethyl alcohol, alcoholic beverages, as well as the wholesale trade of alcoholic beverages, monitoring compliance with licensing requirements. The head of the Inspectorate is appointed by the Government on the proposal of the Minister of Finance.

The resolution also approved the Regulations on the Extrabudgetary Inspection Fund and on the procedure for the distribution of food ethyl alcohol between producers of alcohol and other products.

At the same time, the Fund’s funds will be directed at strengthening the material and technical base of the Inspectorate, and providing material incentives to its employees.
