New Deputy Innovation Minister starts his work

The meeting discussed the mechanisms for financing promising projects in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, the press service of the Ministry of Innovative Development said in a statement.

The meeting gave participants the opportunity to voice problems preventing the development of investment and management companies.

This meeting was held in the framework of a working group for preparation of draft legal and regulatory documents relating to the legal status and organization of venture funds, management companies, as well as investments in innovative enterprises.

Representatives of such companies as Orient Capital Management, Silk Capital, InfinBank, Avesta Investment Group, IFG Capital, Centil, PWC participated in the meeting.

It should be noted, Atabek Nazirov began work as deputy minister in early May. He will promote development and implementation of innovative solutions in monetary policy, banking system, budget policy, tax system, social services, pensions, agriculture and water management, as well as demographic and employment studies.

Prior to assuming the post, Atabek Nazirov worked in London at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as Senior Regional Banker of the Department of Investments in the Industrial Sector. He supervised and coordinated projects in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Atabek Nazirov was born in 1975 in the city of Tashkent. He graduated from the University of New York in Stony Brook, New York (USA). The work experience also includes such companies as GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP in New York, TROIKA DIALOG in Moscow, MDM Bank in Moscow, THE AVACENT GROUP in Washington, and JP MORGAN CHASE in New York.
