New Campus of Tashkent State University of Law to Be Built in New Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new campus of Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) will be constructed in New Tashkent, according to a presidential decree “On Measures for Further Reform of Legal Education and Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

A land plot will be allocated for the project, and the Ministry of Justice, together with the project organizer, will select the optimal proposals and manage construction activities.

International financial institutions, foreign and regional banks, and large international construction companies will participate in the project, utilizing concessional financing.

Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the university will implement a dual education system for second-, third-, and fourth-year law students. Under this model, up to 50% of theoretical classes will take place in classrooms, while half of practical training will be conducted in courts, legal protection agencies, law firms, legal consultancies, and other relevant organizations.

Authorities also plan to gradually expand TSUL’s international cooperation. Initiatives include establishing a European Law Center with European universities, a WTO Law Center supported by the World Trade Organization, an English Law Center with U.S. and U.K. universities and experts, a Turkish-Uzbek Law Center in collaboration with Turkish universities, and a Chinese Law Center jointly with Chinese universities.

Students will have regular opportunities for internships and practical experience in international law firms and dispute resolution centers, including arbitration and mediation.

Additionally, in 2026, the university will organize teacher exchanges and internships with leading foreign universities to enhance education quality and integrate international standards into the curriculum.
