Nestlé Voluntarily Recalls Limited Batches of Infant Formula in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Nestlé Food LLC has announced a voluntary recall of a limited number of infant formula products in Uzbekistan. The recall concerns dry instant milk and fermented milk formulas, as well as amino acid–based therapeutic dietary formulas from certain batches.
The recall is a precautionary measure and part of a global voluntary recall by Nestlé. It was triggered by the detection of a potential risk of cereulide toxin in one of the raw materials—arachidonic acid—supplied by an external vendor.
Although the ingredient is present in minimal amounts and Uzbekistan currently has no regulations on cereulide levels in food, Nestlé has implemented the recall as part of its global risk mitigation measures. In Uzbekistan, the recall began on 5 January 2026.
The decision follows strict corporate quality and safety protocols and is purely preventive.
Nestlé Food LLC has notified the relevant regulatory authorities and confirmed its readiness to provide regulators, consumers, and clients with all necessary information regarding the recall procedures. Consumers who purchased the affected products will be able to return them according to procedures defined by the company.
The company emphasized that consumer health and safety remain its top priority.
Consumers who have purchased products from the affected batches can return them following the procedure established by Nestlé Food LLC, which will be communicated to the public via the company’s official channels https://www.facebook.com/nestlebaby.uzbekistan, http://instagram.com/nestle_baby_uzbekistan, https://t.me/nestlebabyuz.
