Nestle Uzbekistan launches educational programme
Healthy Kids is a unique educational programme for children, which is aimed at forming nutrition culture as main component of healthy lifestyle.
Director-general of Nestle Uzbekistan Filipp Gorbunov said that the programme is a part of global programme of Nestle “Healthy Kids”, which is implemented in 71 countries of the world.
According to Nestle Uzbekistan, Nestlé cooperates with250 partners worldwide within the programme, including with the state bodies, NGOs, institutes, sport federation. The programme attracted over 5 million children. It is planned to increase number of participating countries to 80 by 2015.
Filipp Gorbunov said that the progamme “Healthy Kids” was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan.
He said that one of main goals of the “Lessons of good nutrition” is to form knowledge among children on value of health, necessity to strengthen it, familiarize them with healthy lifestyle and correct nutrition, as well as familiarize with culture.
The programme will cover 1 and 2 form students of general educational schools and pupil of Mehribonlik Houses, as well as school preparation groups of kindergartens.
The “Lessons of good nutrition” can be conducted as off-class lessons, group worsk, extracurricular activities, associated with the formation of healthy lifestyle among children. The lessons can be conducted by teachers and tutors.
At the first stage, it is planned to cover 6,000 children in Tashkent and Namangan. The programme will cover 22 schools in Tashkent and 10 schools in Namangan. Later, the programme can be implemented in other regions of Uzbekistan as well.
