Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade held talks with the Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy of the Republic of Korea, Pak Gi Young, through video conferencing.
The subject of discussion was joint measures to mitigate the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic and global crisis on the sectors of the economies of both countries, as well as the current state of implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the events held at the highest level.
The negotiations also discussed the organization of close cooperation in order to minimize the risks of delays in the implementation of large joint investment projects in the areas of healthcare and pharmaceuticals, education, and the development of the ICT sector.
The issues of creating preferential conditions for access of national producers to the markets of the two countries and assistance of the Korean side in the issues of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO were discussed separately.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to continue consultations through videoconference on a regular basis in order to discuss further steps to accelerate the implementation of joint projects and activities with the Republic of Korea.
