Negotiations are underway to increase exports of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to Malaysia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, the company Golden Prime Fruit (Uzbekistan) for the first time in history began supplying fresh cherries, peaches, apricots, grapes and plums from Uzbekistan to Malaysia.
In July 2019, exports of fresh fruits and vegetables amounted to 5 tonnes. The third shipment of about 1.5 tonnes has been shipped from Uzbekistan. The cargo was shipped in a special labeled Made in Uzbekistan packaging to increase awareness of Uzbek products in the Malaysian market.
According to the exporter’s representatives, “fresh produce has aroused great interest, and the company is considering the possibility of increasing fruit exports to Malaysia.”
Currently, negotiations are underway with leading Malaysian retail chains, and it is also planned to deliver melons in August in addition to the existing range of goods.
