Nearly 29,000 Uzbek Citizens Studied Abroad In 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, a total of 28,954 Uzbek citizens went abroad to pursue education, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Compared to 2024, this figure declined by 6,894 people, or nearly 19.3%.

The majority of students chose neighboring countries. The top three destinations were Russia (6,498 students), Tajikistan (6,039), and Kyrgyzstan (4,648). Among more distant countries, South Korea (3,513), Türkiye (2,496), and China (1,259) were popular.

Uzbek students also pursued studies in Europe and the United States: 886 went to the United Kingdom, 391 to Germany, and 351 to the U.S.

Overall, citizens of Uzbekistan studied in 35 countries worldwide.
