NDPU sets priorities for 2014
Representatives of the Central Council of the party, faction of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, Tashkent city and Tashkent regional councils of the parties, and others participated at the event.
The event was dedicated to participation of the party and its structures in developing social sector, employment of population, construction of habitation and accomplishment of rural areas, further reforming education and healthcare sector. The participants also considered the report of the President of Uzbekistan “2014 will become a year of development of the country with high tempo, mobilization of all opportunities, gradual continuation of justified reforms strategy”.
During the event, it was underlined that almost 970,000 people were provided jobs in 2013, of which 60.3% fell to share of rural areas. Small enterprises, microfirms and individual businesses created over 480,000 new jobs. Some 500,000 graduates of colleges were employed.
The real income of population rose by 16%, average sizes of salaries, pensions, allowances and stipends – 20.8%. The average size of pension in Uzbekistan makes up 37.5% compared to average salary. The figure will grow up to 41% in 2014.
It is planned to create 1 million jobs in Uzbekistan in 2014 and about 60% of state budget expenses will be directed to social sector in 2014.
At the seminar, the members of NDPU considered their participation in reforms and implementation of the state programmes in Uzbekistan, including employment programme, as well as contribute to social-economic development of the country.
The party outlined its tasks for 2014 on such areas as social issues, employment, deepening reforms in education and healthcare, communal spheres, construction of habitation, etc. The party will also study shortages in its activities and eliminate them. It is also planning to hold parliamentary hearings on programme of creation of jobs and employment of population for 2014.
The seminar developed several recommendations on strengthening role of party and MPs in developing social sphere, creation of jobs, reforming education and healthcare, improving look of cities and rural areas, holding parliamentary hearing, MPs requests, etc.
