NBU issues over 2m banking cards into circulation

National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity (NBU) issued over 2 million banking cards as of 1 October 2014.
According to the press service of the bank, NBU emitted over 530,000 online cards SmartVista and about 75,000 Visa international cards.
The bank installed over 16,300 POS-terminals. The bank said that they carried out transactions for over 2 trillion soums in nine months of 2014, while over 3.3 trillion soums were transferred to cards.
Till the end of the year, NBU is planning to increase number of POS-terminals by 5,000 units, 10 ATMs and 75 information-payment kiosks.
