Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on "Additional Measures for the Modernization of the System of Organization and Conduct of Statistical Work."

According to the document, the State Statistics Agency under the President has been transformed into the National Statistics Committee.

The key directions for improving the effectiveness of statistical activities include enhancing the system of statistical observation at the macroeconomic and sectoral levels in accordance with international standards, reducing the volume of statistical reporting, and decreasing the administrative burden on businesses through data integration. The implementation of the principle of forming statistical indicators "from the mahalla to the republic" will also be introduced to improve the reliability of information.

By the end of 2025, the "Regional Statistics" information system is planned to be launched. Starting in 2025, microfirms and small enterprises with fewer than five employees and annual turnover of up to 2,000 BRWs will be exempt from mandatory annual statistical reporting—submission will now be required once every three years.

From 1 January 2026, interactive AI services will begin operating within the statistical bodies, including:

• "Advisor" – a tool to support enterprises when submitting reports;
• "Analyst" – a service for searching and analyzing statistical data;
• A call center – a platform for conducting statistical surveys by phone.

From the 2025/2026 academic year, a branch of the Department of Economic Statistics at Tashkent State University of Economics will open under the National Statistics Committee.

Additionally, starting 1 from July 2025, registration of individual entrepreneurs will be based on the classifier of economic activities.

According to Presidential resolution from 24 February 2025, the Office for the Transformation of the National Statistical System will be established under the National Statistics Committee. This office will focus on improving the methodology for estimating household incomes, developing micro-level statistical observations, and enhancing interaction with statistics users.

Also approved were the regulations for the National Statistics Committee and the Republican Statistical Council.
