National Social Security Agency to Begin Care Services for People with Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The National Social Security Agency has been tasked with organizing care services for individuals suffering from dementia and Parkinson’s disease. This directive was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Namangan region.
During the meeting, it was noted that over the past three months, as part of the “Step Towards an Active Life” program, 48 entrepreneurs in Namangan established elderly care services for those requiring assistance, serving more than 3,000 people. As a result, 350 care workers were able to gain employment and earn an income.
In addition, the National Agency has been instructed to expand care services and provide support specifically for individuals with dementia and Parkinson’s disease. Special attention will also be given to implementing rehabilitation and educational programs for children with disabilities, complementing existing daytime care services.
