National cuisine of Uzbekistan presented in Romania

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- World Congress of Culinary Traditions was held in Romania on 13-17 March 2014. It was organized by National tourism organization of Romania, Culture Association Euro East Alternative and World Association of Chefs Societies.

Culture Association Euro East Alternative was one of main partners of Uzbekistan Chefs Association in Romania.

The delegation led by chairperson of Uzbekistan Chefs Association Akbar Umarov participated in the event. The delegation included chef Nargiza Umarova and young cooks Shirin Alimova, Abdulaziz Abdumavlyanov and Radjiv Zakirov.

They won medals and diplomas for participating in the congress and winning third place in contest “Black Box”. The Uzbek chefs participate in gastronomic show on preparing lagman along with Italian chefs, who cooked pasta.

Representatives of over 50 countries participated in the congress and presented their cuisines, showed their traditions and customs.

Uzbek team presented three cuisines in line with congress rules – pilaf, fish on Gijduvan receipt and halvaytar (sweet).

Shirin Alimov presented these meals to the participants of Congress.

It is expected that the images and description will be included to the first edition of Encyclopedia of World Culinary Traditions, which will be published in Luxembourg this year.
