National Chamber invites doctors to use Canadian online simulator

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan an online conference was held with Royal College Canada International (“RCI”) represented by Executive Director Dr. Andrew Padmos and Regional Director Dr. Karim Kayumi on 17 April 2020. This was reported by the press service of the National Chamber of Innovative Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Between the parties, first of all, an exchange of views took place on the pandemic situation related to the spread of Covid-2019 coronavirus infection in the world, and the measures taken in this regard in Uzbekistan and Canada. Foreign partners praised the complex of measures undertaken by the Government of Uzbekistan to curb the spread of Covid-2019, especially noting their timeliness and scale.

The partnership of the National Chamber with the Royal Royal College of Canada began last year; on 30 November 2019, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

From the very beginning, the parties paid significant attention to cooperation in such an urgent direction as the digital capabilities of modern healthcare and telemedicine. The Canadian partners in this regard have gained great and successful experience, in particular, a team of experts led by Professor Karim Kayumi developed an online simulator CyberPatient. Today it is a significant element of modern healthcare.

During an online conference, National Chamber Chairman Rovshan Izamov welcomed the decision of Canadian CyberPatient developers to allow free access to this digital platform for quarantine. It is available at: http://www.cyberpatient.ca/.

Thus, medical students, as well as current doctors of Uzbekistan, have the opportunity to use the quarantine time to the maximum benefit, especially those who have the opportunity to stay at home these days.

CyberPatient will now help professionals free of charge upgrade their skills on the basis of international standards, in particular, existing in the Canadian healthcare system.

An online simulator enables doctors to hone theoretical knowledge, improve the accuracy of clinical decision-making, and this always leads to an increase in the level of care and safety for patients.

Passing advanced training courses, including international ones, as you know, also gives the opportunity to gain additional points, which is relevant for the credit-modular system provided for in licensing doctors, which is being phased in in healthcare in Uzbekistan.

The National Chamber and RCI also discussed the possibility of implementing new joint projects at the online conference. In particular, it is planned to conduct online webinars on relevant topics with the participation of Canadian health professionals. It is planned that the materials of such webinars will be available in translation into several languages.

They also discussed the idea of a joint project on postgraduate education in the field of medicine, which, if implemented, will provide an opportunity to work and improve the skills of doctors from Uzbekistan in Canada.

During the conference, the parties reached an agreement on the development of cooperation in the field of digital healthcare opportunities, telemedicine based on the experience of the two countries, including through the organization of joint webinars, modern online education platforms and other areas.

The National Chamber is planning a number of similar initiatives aimed at helping doctors, developing the health system of Uzbekistan as a whole, and improving medical services for residents of the country.
