National Center for Human Rights strongly condemns the actions of employees of the internal affairs bodies of Andijan region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan strongly condemns the actions of Andijan police officers in relation to the resident of the city A. Abdukarimov, which led to his death. This was reported by the press service of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As a result of actions taken by police officers in relation to the detained by them on May 30 of this year A. Abdukarimov, he was hospitalized in the Andijan branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medicine, where severe injuries were found on his body during a medical examination. As a result of the injuries A. Abdukarimov, despite the assistance provided, died on June 11 this year

We express our deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased. We urge the responsible ministries and organizations to take concrete measures to restore justice and the rule of law, and to prevent similar crimes in the future.

As soon as information about this tragedy appeared in the media and on the Internet, the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan sent an official letter to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.T. Yuldashev and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan P.R. Bobojonov.

This tragedy does not leave any of us indifferent, since it primarily took the life of the young man and caused endless grief among the members of the deceased's family.

This tragic incident in Andijan was taken under the strict control of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan. We will use all our capabilities in order to achieve justice, and so that such tragedies are no longer repeated.
