Narbaeva and Kochanova Discuss Development of Interparliamentary Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to Dushanbe, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.

During the discussion, both sides highlighted the steady and progressive development of Uzbek-Belarusian relations in recent years, emphasizing that this progress reflects the targeted efforts of the two countries’ leaders.

Special attention was given to preparations for the 4th Uzbek-Belarusian Interparliamentary Forum, scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in 2026.

The forum will include a session of the interparliamentary commission, meetings of youth parliament representatives and the academic community, a women entrepreneurs’ business dialogue, and an exhibition of national products.

The parties identified priority areas for the upcoming forum, including cooperation in agriculture, medicine and pharmaceuticals, IT technologies, education, the development of interregional ties, support for women entrepreneurs, and youth initiatives.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish a joint working group to ensure the effective preparation and execution of the forum and to maximize the impact of the initiatives implemented within its framework.
