NAPU starts to collect proposals for provision of labeling services for certain types of goods

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Project Management Agency (NAPU) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced about the start of the collection of commercial offers for the provision of labeling services for certain types of goods.

Applications are accepted until December 25, 2018, the NAPU said.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to introduce modern methods of labeling certain types of goods”.

According to the resolution, starting 1 August 2019, Uzbekistan will gradually introduce mandatory labeling of imported and manufactured goods using a protected label and (or) nano-molecular technology, depending on the category of goods.

The head of Uzbekistan approved the list of groups of goods subject to mandatory labeling. The list includes 54 products.

Starting from this date, it is prohibited to sell these goods in Uzbekistan without marking. Responsibility is provided for violation.

NAPU was instructed to select, by 1 February 2019, to select a company, which will provide lebeling service for period from 5 to 10 years.
