Namangan Region Launches Micro Hydropower Plant Project with Chinese Investors
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The hokim of Namangan Region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, reviewed a project to construct a 2 MW micro hydropower plant in the Uychi district, implemented jointly with the Chinese company Zenith Hydro Electrics.
The total cost of the project is US$5 million, with construction planned for 2025–2026.
Once operational, the micro HPP will provide stable and uninterrupted electricity supply to the district and create 15 permanent jobs.
During the visit, the hokim met with investor representatives, discussed emerging issues, and instructed the relevant authorities to resolve them promptly, the regional hokimiyat’s press service reported.
The project aims to develop renewable energy in the region and strengthen cooperation with foreign partners in the energy sector.
