Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Namangan Region, led by Governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, is on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China, where it is holding negotiations with government authorities and leading companies.

In Shenzhen, the regional governor met with Luan Zusheng, President of the international waste management company China Everbright Environment.

During the discussions, the parties focused on accelerating the implementation of an investment project for waste processing in the Chust District of Namangan Region, with a total value of US$150 million.

By the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to complete the project within 14–16 months and commission the facility in the first quarter of 2027. The project is expected to improve the environmental situation in the region, implement modern “green” technologies, and create new jobs.

The Namangan delegation’s visit to China also includes a series of meetings with leading Chinese companies aimed at expanding cooperation in investment, industry, and environmental sectors.

Additionally, Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov held an official meeting with Liu Yi, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen People’s Congress and a member of the city’s party committee leadership.

The parties noted that political will and high-level dialogue between the leaders of Uzbekistan and China provide a strong foundation for the development of interregional cooperation.

Discussions covered the deepening of interaction between Namangan Region and Shenzhen in trade and economic development, investment, industrial cooperation, innovation, and high-tech sectors. Special attention was given to implementing joint investment projects and expanding direct contacts between business communities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Shenzhen city leadership was invited to participate in the 65th International Flower Festival, scheduled to be held in Namangan Region in 2026. The invitation includes participation in festival events and an introduction to the investment, industrial, and tourism potential of the region.
