Namangan Delegation Strengthens Economic Ties with Afghanistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Namangan region, headed by Hokim Shavkatjon Abdurazzokov, is on a working visit to Afghanistan to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The main goal of the visit is to increase the region’s export potential, grow bilateral trade, and elevate investment ties to a higher level.
On the first day in Kabul, the delegation held an official meeting with Afghan Minister of Industry and Trade, Nuriddin Azizi, where the parties discussed prospects for cooperation and exchanged views on key areas of collaboration.
As part of the program, a business forum was organized, serving as an important platform for direct contacts between entrepreneurs from Namangan and Afghanistan. B2B meetings were conducted, resulting in agreements on implementing a number of concrete projects.
Special attention during the negotiations was given to cooperation in the jewelry sector, agriculture, food industry, construction materials production, and other economic sectors. Additionally, the delegation met with Said Karim Khoshimi, Chairman of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
Following the meetings, several agreements were signed between business representatives of both countries. A key outcome of the visit was the opening of an official office of the Namangan hokimiyat in Kabul, which already held its first coordination meeting.
The visit is expected to enhance market access for the region’s industrial and agricultural products and further increase its export potential.
