Namangan Court Bans Sale of Counterfeit Red Bull and Orders Compensation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Economic Court of Namangan Region has ruled on a case filed by Austrian company Red Bull GmbH regarding trademark infringement.

The court found that a local entrepreneur, involved in selling counterfeit Red Bull beverages, violated intellectual property rights.

The ruling prohibits the offender from marketing any products in Uzbekistan that are identical or confusingly similar to the Red Bull trademark.

All counterfeit drinks, packaging, and promotional materials must be destroyed within ten days.

In addition, the entrepreneur is required to pay compensation of 4,120,000 soums, a state duty of 4,944,000 soums, postal expenses of 41,200 soums, and court costs of 103,000 soums.
