Mustapha Sinaceur: Cooperation with Uzbekistan is priority for FAO
In his interview to Jahon news agency, Mustapha Sinaceur said he held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. He said that he expressed gratitude to invitation to international conference “About main food programme implementation of reserves in Uzbekistan”, which will be held in Tashkent this June.
He said that the FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva is also planning to visit Uzbekistan and participate in the international forum.
Mustapha Sinaceur said that currently there are great opportunity to expand cooperation in agriculture sector, taking into account importance of this sector for Uzbekistan and its great potential.
He said that he was impressed with the visit and work of the agriculture specialists, including those engaged in cotton sector.
He said that FAO will support initiatives of Uzbekistan, including intensive land processing methods and effective use of land resources. He also pointed that Uzbekistan currently have no problems with food supply to its population compared to some neighboring states.
