Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Early on 14 February, a mudflow occurred in Kyzylkum village, Jizzakh Region, following heavy rainfall.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, the event caused flooding of approximately 30 residential homes.

The ministry confirmed that no casualties have been reported. Special equipment has been dispatched to the area, and necessary restoration work is underway.

Officials emphasized that the situation remains fully under control of the regional emergency management authorities.

For reference, a mudflow is a sudden and powerful flow of water mixed with mud, rocks, and debris, typically triggered by heavy rains or rapid snowmelt, capable of causing significant damage to infrastructure in a short period of time.
