MSA Resort: A New Growth Point for Tourism in Tashkent Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In a picturesque part of the Tashkent region, near the Ugam-Chatkal Nature Reserve, construction of the unique MSA Resort is nearing completion.

Thanks to the government’s attention to developing tourism and sustainable infrastructure, projects of this scale receive the support and encouragement needed to come to life. MSA Resort is set to become a new destination for nature lovers, admirers of national culture, and food enthusiasts — combining modern comfort with the rich heritage of the region. Ahead of the grand opening, media representatives visited the site to see how this ambitious project is taking shape.

The resort offers guests a chance to experience authentic Uzbek hospitality: cozy hotel rooms, a restaurant with national cuisine, a tasting hall, and – one of the most interesting features – traditional yurts that blend modern comfort with centuries-old Central Asian traditions. Along with the ethno-camp, the complex will have multifunctional spaces for public events, able to host over 1,000 people at once, including open-air areas surrounded by beautiful nature. MSA Resort expects to welcome around 20,000 tourists a year, giving them not only the chance to enjoy nature’s beauty but also to explore the local traditions of viticulture and winemaking.

Sanjar Mirakhmedov, Director of MSA Resort, said: "Our goal is to create a space that opens new opportunities for tourism and gives a strong boost to regional development. The focus of MSA Resort is on national identity and rich cultural heritage. We want to offer visitors not only excellent service but also a genuine experience — from national architecture to local crafts. We pay special attention to preserving the ancient traditions of grape growing and winemaking, producing wines that have already earned international recognition."

One of the key parts of the resort is the MSA Family Winery, which has already gained international recognition. Since 2022, it has represented Uzbek winemaking at the famous Cité du Vin museum in Bordeaux, France. In 2023, MSA Family Winery won a gold medal at the prestigious Berliner Wine Trophy in Germany and two silver medals at Mundus Vini. In 2024, MSA wines received two gold medals at the Concours International de Lyon in France, earning the title of Best Wine from Uzbekistan. Another achievement was the victory of Ekaterina Mokrova, a winery representative, at Uzbekistan’s first sommelier competition, highlighting the team’s high level of skill.

The resort will not only attract tourists but also create about 350 new jobs, making a strong contribution to the local economy.

MSA Resort focuses on several key areas: agriculture, gastro-, ethno-, and agro-tourism, and the production of high-value agricultural products.

This beautiful place will become a center that brings together Uzbekistan’s rich culture, stunning nature and modern infrastructure.
