MPs pass draft law “On ecologic control”

MPs considered a draft law “On ecologic control”, which was developed on initiative of MPs Group from Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan.

The document is directed at raising effective ecologic control, coordinating activities of the state establishments, civil institutes, strengthening role of self-governing bodies, NGOs and other organizations in conducting ecologic control, implementing state programmes on protection of environment and health of people.

The draft law was widely discussed among public. The document was published in local media and at the seminars, roundtables, conferences, etc.

The document was considered with participation of experts from Japan, Germany, Italy, France and Belgium. They noted that adoption of the draft will create unique mechanism on participation of the NGOs and other civil societies in solving state programmes in environment protection. After discussions, MPs passed the draft law and directed to the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan for consideration.

MPs discussed a draft law “On introduction of changes to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan”, which was developed in connection with adoption of the law “On self-governing bodies” in new edition.

The document introduces changes to Code of administrative responsibility, Land Code, Housing Code, etc.

The document was passed in the first reading and MPs entrusted a corresponding committee to prepare it to the second reading.
