MPs discuss execution of child neglect law in three regions

The session considered execution of the decisions of the committee on execution of the law “On preventing child neglect and law violation among under ages” in Syrdarya, Andijan and Ferghana regions.

MPs of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, experts, representatives of NGOs and mass media and others participated at the event, the press service of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament said.

It was underlined Uzbekistan create firm legal base for protecting rights of youth and children. During independence years, Uzbekistan adopted over 100 laws and normative documents, including law “On education”, “On guarantee of rights of children”, “preventing child neglect and law violation among under ages”, “On guardianship and custody”.

Uzbekistan joined to the UN Convention on child rights and other international documents in this area.

Representatives of three regional administrations presented information on protecting rights of under ages. The works of the commissions on under-ages affairs and other bodies were analyzed. It was underlined that huge work on preventing violation of law by under-ages and child neglect was carried out.

MPs underlined that some points of the decisions of the committee were not implemented. The regions, in particular, should wider promote legal knowledge among youth. It was noted that attention should be paid to strengthen social partnership with general educational schools, academic lyceums, professional colleges, etc.

The participants proposed to monitor implementation of the decisions of the committee on execution of the law law “On preventing child neglect and law violation among under ages” in Syrdarya, Andijan and Ferghana regions.
