MPs discuss a draft law “On international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 October 2018, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a regular meeting of the working group established under the Committee on International Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other interested departments of the republic. It was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The event participants substantively discussed the draft law “On international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

As the deputies stressed, the norms reflected in the draft law will allow the introduction of mechanisms aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of interdepartmental cooperation in drafting international treaties, a comprehensive and more thorough study of the consequences of their conclusion, and monitoring the implementation of international treaties.

It was noted that in order to ensure the direct effect of the law, the draft law consolidates the main provisions of the current five acts of legislation in this area.
