MPs discussed draft laws “On guardianship and custody” and “On introduction of amendments and changes to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law “On guardianship and custody” in the reading second.
It was underlined that Uzbekistan has multilevel system of protection of rights and interests of people, who need guardianship and custody, including children without parents. The work on revealing children, who need social support, prevent child negligence and law violation.
MPs said that the draft law “On guardianship and custody” is directed at improving legal mechanism of protection of rights and interests of people, who need guardianship and custody, including orphans. It also strengthens state support in this area, determines rights and liabilities of guardianship and custody institutes, etc.
It defines the basic concepts of public policies, principles, objectives and powers of public authorities in the field of guardianship. It also establishes procedures for the appointment of a guardian and trustee.
The draft law “On introduction of amendments and changes to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law “On guardianship and custody” introduces changes to existing legislation, including Family Code of Uzbekistan to develop mechanism of guardianship and custody.
It was noted that both documents will help to improve system of guardianship and custody in Uzbekistan and protect interests of people, who needs guardianship and custody.
MPs also considered a draft law “On introductionof changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with creation of the state body on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition”.
The document introduces changes to existing legislation in connection with new committee and providing right to the committee and its territorial office to open court cases without paying the state duty.
MPs supported the documents after the discussions.
