More Than 45,000 Citizens in Uzbekistan Received Over 209 Billion Soums in Subsidies for Solar Electricity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, a total of 45,381 individuals in Uzbekistan received subsidies from the State Budget for electricity generated by solar panels and supplied to the unified power grid. The total amount of payments reached 209.201 billion soums.

The largest share of subsidies was allocated to the Khorezm region, amounting to 55.4 billion soums. It was followed by the Republic of Karakalpakstan with 29.1 billion soums and the Bukhara region, where payments totaled 25.7 billion soums. Significant amounts were also recorded in the Kashkadarya region at 18.2 billion soums, the Navoi region at 13.5 billion soums, and the city of Tashkent at 13.3 billion soums.

In December alone, subsidies were paid to 16,123 users, with total monthly disbursements reaching 7.49 billion soums.

The “Solar Home” program has been in operation since 1 April 2023. Under the program, a subsidy of 1,000 soums is paid from the State Budget for each kilowatt-hour of electricity generated by solar panels installed on property owned by individuals and supplied to the unified electricity system in excess of personal consumption.

Subsidies can be received through the Soliq mobile application by transferring funds to a bank card via the “Cashback and Benefits” section, under the “Solar Home” subsection.
