More than 29.9 Million Residents of Uzbekistan Have Completed the Online Census Stage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The online stage of Uzbekistan’s population and agricultural census, which began on 15 January, concluded overnight on 31 January.

According to the National Statistics Committee, over 29.9 million people had taken part in the census over the 17-day period as of 19:00 on Saturday, representing 81.8% of all households nationwide.

The committee clarified that citizens who manage to register on the census website, census.stat.uz, by 00:00 will still be able to complete their questionnaires after midnight, as the system will allow the process to be finalized correctly.

The second stage of the census will take place from 4 to 28 February. During this period, enumerators will conduct door-to-door visits to households and complete survey forms on tablets based on respondents’ answers.

This phase of the census will be carried out by representatives of the so-called “mahalla seven,” a local community-based group responsible for on-the-ground data collection.
