MoPE is working on three scenarios to start new academic year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Public Education (MoPE), the Ministry of Health and other relevant ministries and departments are conducting research on how to start a new academic year.

The Ministry of Public Education, based on its authority, is working on three scenarios for the start of the school year:

Scenario # 1: As the pandemic stabilizes, schools will resume normal operations. This is the best option for teachers and students. International experience shows that school-age children are less likely to become infected than adults, and the risk of the disease passing from children to adults is also not high.

Scenario # 2: If the Ministry of Health’s conclusion on the spread of the virus among children in Uzbekistan is not positive, education may have to continue online.

Scenario # 3: This is a hybrid scenario. The schools will also be transferred to the classroom system. Only in a certain region, depending on the quarantine situation at school, students will continue to receive education online or full-time.

In this case, at the initial stage, parents who are afraid for their child’s health will be given the opportunity to educate their child online at home, which means that school attendance will be free.

The final conclusion will be announced by the decision of the republican special commission.

It should be noted that, despite the change in quarantine rules, the ministry plans to continue the online school project. This project gives the child a constant opportunity to consolidate the knowledge gained in the classroom at school, and teachers - to receive master classes from their qualified colleagues.
